Gun Safes - Don't Get Locked Out

Here are some basic things to remember about gun safes, or any safe for that matter.

  1. If you have to dial the safe combination several times to get it to open, get the lock checked by an expert. Open the safe and then LEAVE IT OPEN and call me or a certified locksmith in your area. With the safe open this is an easy problem to solve, but if the safe is locked and won't open, then is becomes a major expense for you.
  2. If you have an electronic safe lock and the batteries need to be changed, do it with the DOOR OPEN. Some electronic combinations locks will not perform properly after the batteries have been changed. If you already have the door open and your electronic lock fails, then you won't have the expense of drilling the safe.
  3. If you need the combination changed, once again, do it with the DOOR OPEN. Better yet, call me or another certified locksmith. Part of changing a safe combination is to also check the entire safe for any signs of problems, and lubrication if needed.
